Having lived in Krabi for over 18 years, we have selected what we believe is the most ethical and fun elephant sanctuary. This is based on our own experience. Ao Nang Elephant Sanctuary is a dedicated haven for elephants in the beautiful Ao Nang, Krabi, Southern region of Thailand. The sanctuary focuses on ethical and sustainable elephant tourism, providing a safe and nurturing environment for elephants to thrive while allowing visitors to learn about and interact with these majestic creatures. The sanctuary is situated approx 20mins from our resort.
We can arrange everything for you. Morning sessions run from 9am-12pm and afternoon sessions are 2pm-5pm. You will have an english speaking tour guide.
During your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with elephants. You’ll learn about their behaviour, help feed them and even enjoy a mud\river bath with these gentle giants. The experienced guides will ensure a memorable and educational experience.
They do not offer elephant riding trips. They also believe in responsible and cruelty-free elephant tourism, and their focus is on providing ethical and educational interactions.
We recommend wearing comfortable, lightweight clothing, and swimwear that is suitable for the tropical climate. Just flip-flops are advisable. Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunscreen, towel and insect repellent.
